Today's Christmas Stocking Cake is one of our favorite cake tutorials for the season!

In this video, you will learn how to transform a simple sheet cake into an adorable Christmas stocking complete with sweet toys and goodies inside.

This cake design can be altered to fit any size of sheet cake, and the stocking design options are endless! We hope that you enjoy this fun and festive cake tutorial!

    Materials for Christmas Stocking Cake

For this Christmas Stocking Cake, we used a 9x13 sheet cake (we used our White Almond Sour Cream Cake -Doctored cake mix recipe), frosted with our Fluffy Vanilla Buttercream Frosting recipe.

Stocking Template- You may like to make your own from parchment paper to fit the size cake that you are working with.

Coloring Gel: Wilton Leaf Green, Americolor Super Red, Americolor Warm Brown

Fondant (I kneaded a little tylose into my fondant for the stocking stuffers so that it would firm up more quickly)

    Miscellaneous Candy

Bows- optional- I used a red bow on the bear & a gold bow on the lollipop

Rice Cereal Treats- I used the pre-made 22g size- 1 square for the bear, and 1 for the present

Cake Board- I used a cake board beneath the stocking cake which I trimmed down to size, and then moved the chilled cake to the final cake base (attached with a little frosting)

Cake Base of Choice- Our cake base is three 13x19 sheet cake boards wrapped in a red plastic tablecloth (which is pulled tightly across the top and secured beneath.
